About Kieran
I am a maths university graduate achieving As and A*s in my chosen subjects as well as reaching the national round of the Kangaroo Maths Olympiad several times in high school and achieving the highest score in my year for the CAT. I have experience of tutoring my younger cousins, and would love to expand to tutoring after completing several teaching modules during my degree. I am currently a semi-professional cyclist racing on an international level and can train when I choose so my schedule is very flexible.

From university I've found that its best to focus on a technique based approach, identifying what the student is struggling to grasp and explain this technique. Many teachers and textbooks make questions harder by simply inserting bigger numbers which isn't advancing your mathematical repertoire. The main reason people struggle to answer maths questions is that they can't remember what technique to use to answer the question, with me the student won't have to remember which techniques to use because they will be able to deduce them. I'd take a similar approach with chemistry and physics where certain indicators in a question would trigger a mental recollection because of a more thorough understanding of processes rather than fact recall.
