i am a student. I have no previous formal experience however, being one of the top students in my schools i have always been the student to call on when others needed help. I'd help with homework, class work and sometimes even be asked questions about things not taught in school.

i approach each topic by first asking questions to gain an understanding of the child's knowledge. Then i'd try to challenge that by asking more challenging questions and then guide them through the answer; kids learn from getting things wrong.
