About Monica

I am currently a third-year LLB Law student, and studying this course has given me valuable experience in the academic environment. Through my studies, I have developed strong research skills and learned how to communicate in a clear and professional manner. I believe this has also helped me sharpen my revision and study techniques, which I can pass on to others, especially young learners who are still preparing for the academic and professional world.

Having graduated Grade 12 with five distinctions, and as someone who has always been a focused and disciplined student, I understand the academic pressure that can exist even at school level. I also believe that receiving extra support—particularly from someone who has gone through the same system fairly recently—can make a significant difference.

I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others. In high school, I was often the person my friends turned to for assistance, and I understand that every learner has a different learning style. I approach tutoring with patience and compassion, and I adapt my teaching to suit each student’s individual needs.

English

I am also a student and graduated matric three years ago, so I understand how the school system works and how it feels to be a young person experiencing the pressures of school.
What makes my lessons unique is that I focus on explaining concepts in a clear and simple way, and I adapt the work to suit each learner’s learning style. I aim not only to help students grasp the work, but also to feel confident in their approach and answers.

I am able to teach in both English and Afrikaans, allowing me to reach a wider range of students. A typical lesson with me would begin by revising the learner’s work in the subject, going through it slowly and identifying areas of difficulty. I then explain these concepts thoroughly and provide additional practice questions to ensure a strong understanding.

I mainly offer lessons to primary school students, but high school students are also welcome, especially for exam preparation.
