About Alex
I'm a 15 year old, year 11 secondary school student who excels in the scientific subjects, especially maths, where I achieve top grades every test and exam. I decided that I wanted to tutor since after helping friends and peers with their schoolwork, I've been told and have realised that I'm quite an effective teacher who's understanding and sympathetic when someone's struggling. Due to the fact that I haven't left school yet, I have a good understanding of the current UK secondary and primary school curriculums also due to the fact that I have an 8 year-old brother who I help and review the work of. I strive to continue tutoring when I'm older, studying A levels and at university, helping people doing the same course as me or supporting younger people during my summers.

My approach to private tutoring is welcoming and the complete opposite of an intimidating or pressuring environment regardless of age. Due to a relationship with a retired teacher and tutor, I have learnt the most effective teaching methods for both Mathematics and other sciences despite my young age. My young age may also make me a role model for a younger child who would be intimidated by a private lesson with and adult due to better mutual understanding. My lessons would be for a child of any level in the fields specified, whether struggling greatly, needing a review of content or even if they believe their potential is far greater than their test results. My lessons could be quite short or very long with breaks in the middle, which would be particularly helpful for a child who can't sit and concentrate for long periods of time.
