About Quincy
I will be attending medical school in the fall as the first person in my family to pursue a career in STEM. I attribute so much of my own academic success to mentors/tutors that I met as a freshman at the University of Southern California. These wonderful people helped show me how to study—how to approach learning in difficult/competitive science classes. I discovered that while my intelligence was important, my strategy in approaching difficult content and exams was the most critical factor in performing well in school.
Four years later, I graduated with a 3.95 GPA, summa cum laude, phi beta kappa, and have been accepted at a number of top-ranked medical schools.
I am looking to help students from all different backgrounds learn how to approach learning with more confidence!

I believe that confidence is key for students tackling any difficult subject.
When we start to work together, I will ask you to take a diagnostic exam and discuss your current study strategy with me so that we can work together to make real steps towards improvement. If we are looking into a particular topic, I like to give a very brief lecture (10 mins max) on the most confusing parts of the subject that instructors like to test, and then I will walk with you through problems so that you can learn to figure them out on your own.
While I want to help, I know from personal experience that tutoring can be used as a crutch. I will do everything I can to help you build a great foundation that will not only help you in your current studies, but will help you succeed for a long time in difficult academic pursuits.
I can tutor middle school students and older. My current strengths are college-level biology, chemistry, physics, psychology/sociology, and reading comprehension.
I am especially passionate about helping students prepare applications for medical school and college, as well as preparation for standardized exams!
