About Ziyan
Hi, I’m Ziyan, a Melbourne-based tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for working with children. I graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) with First Class Honors, and I achieved an ATAR of 96.85 in VCE. I will also be commencing a Master of Finance at the University of Melbourne.
In addition to my academic background, I have completed a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and hold VIT registration. I have hands-on experience working with children aged 0–6 in early learning centers, as well as experience as an online English tutor for primary school students.
I am a patient, caring and supportive tutor who focuses on building confidence and making learning enjoyable. I believe every child learns differently, so I always adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s needs and pace.
I particularly enjoy working with younger children and helping them develop a positive attitude towards learning from an early age. At the same time, I am also confident in supporting older students with their academic goals, especially in Mandarin, Math and Accounting.
I aim to create a relaxed and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making progress, and enjoying the learning process.

My lessons are designed to be engaging, supportive and tailored to each student’s needs. I believe that learning should be both effective and enjoyable, especially for younger children.
For younger learners, I focus on creating a fun and interactive environment through games, storytelling, visual materials and simple activities to help them stay engaged and build confidence. I also incorporate elements of play-based learning from my early childhood education background to support their development in a natural and meaningful way.
For older students, including VCE level, I focus on building a strong understanding of key concepts, improving problem-solving skills, and developing effective exam strategies. I explain concepts step by step and adapt my teaching style depending on the student’s level and learning pace.
My lessons are typically 60 minutes, but I am flexible depending on the student’s age and needs.
I have experience as an online English tutor for primary school students and have worked with children aged 0–6 in early learning centres. This has helped me develop strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.
My lessons are suitable for young children, primary school students, and VCE students who are looking for support in Mandarin, Maths or Accounting.
