About Melissa
Hello. My name is Melissa. I am a former scientist who worked in the pharmaceutical industry for 12 years. I have degrees in both Chemical Engineering and Chemistry. I have been teaching middle school science and math for the last 12 years. I am also a certified Orton Gillingham Reading teacher. I have taught students of all abilities and my goal is for students to be confident in their work.

I teach for success. I feel a lesson is successful if a student hasn't mastered the concepts to at least 90% mastery. I typically like to be prepared so I usually ask students to let me know(if possible) what they are working on ahead of time. That helps to prepare lessons, notes and practice work. I feel like I try to make learning fun and enjoyable, especially since science and math can be challenging. I am here to help those in middle school science as well and middle school and high school math.
