About Leila

I’m half Dutch and half Egyptian, and I grew up speaking both Dutch and English fluently. Switching between the two languages is completely natural for me, which means I can explain Dutch clearly in English and help you understand not just the words, but how Dutch people actually speak.

I’m currently learning Arabic myself, so I know first-hand what it’s like to be a language learner: the confusing grammar, the words that just won’t stick, and the moment it finally clicks. That experience shapes how I teach. I’m patient, encouraging and focused on helping you feel confident speaking from day one.

I love sharing the Dutch language and culture, and I’d be happy to help you reach your goals, whatever your reason for learning.

About the lesson

Want to learn Dutch in a relaxed, practical way? I grew up bilingual in Dutch and English, so I can explain Dutch grammar, pronunciation and those tricky little words in clear English, and I understand where English speakers usually get stuck.

My lessons are fully personalised. In our first lesson we’ll talk about your goals, whether that’s moving to the Netherlands or Belgium, passing the inburgering exam, talking with Dutch family and friends, or just enjoying a new language. Then I’ll build each lesson around you.

Every lesson mixes speaking practice with grammar and vocabulary, using real-life situations like shopping, work, appointments and everyday conversation. You’ll start speaking from the very first lesson, at a pace that feels comfortable.

Lessons take place online via Zoom and usually last 60 minutes. They’re suitable for adults and teenagers at all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners who want to polish their Dutch.
