About Callum

Hi everyone! My name is Callum and I am looking forward to helping you achieve your English goals. I grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa but I am staying in Istanbul, Turkey after achieving an academic scholarship to a university there. Although I am a native English speaker, it is not the first language in Turkey and therefore, after learning Turkish and making Turkish friends I realized that I was able to help them with English which is exactly what I did. For any English classes, despite them knowing some English, there are always new phrases that people won't know and that is where I always come in and help. I will always make sure that you are comfortable and understand everything and I fully believe that you will achieve your goals no matter what they are or how hard they appear to be!

About the lesson

I like keeping my lessons interactive, although still doing exercises depending on what we have learned, I enjoy engaging in conversations about topics enjoyed by the student as it helps improve their vocabulary while focusing on their grammar that is being used. Students will always be encouraged to rather ask if they do not know as I am always happy to re-explain to ensure that the topic at hand is understood fully. Depending on the age of students will also depend on what activities are used as engagement, for example, if a student is young we will make use of games that make use of the topics covered in a lesson and for the older students we can have proper discussions that will improve vocabulary and help with the formality of dealing with others in the work environment etc.

Callum has been teaching English for quite a period of time. I appreciate his patience and his pronunciation. He speaks slowly and clearly making it easier to understand. He is 100% reliable for lessons, never changing dates or times. English is his first language so his fluency is evident when teaching and communicating.
