About Sophia
Hello! I’m a native Mandarin speaker from Beijing, currently based in Los Angeles, with 5 years of teaching experience both in China and the U.S.
I hold a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from universities in New York, and my Mandarin is 100% standard Beijing accent. I specialize in teaching Mandarin and Pinyin to both children and adults, whether you’re learning for school, travel, work, or personal interest.
I have taught students from all backgrounds — from complete beginners to advanced learners — and I tailor each lesson to suit your level and learning style. My classes are interactive, structured, and engaging, focusing on pronunciation, everyday conversation, and cultural understanding.

My Mandarin lessons are customized based on your level, goals, and learning style. Whether you’re a complete beginner or looking to improve your fluency, I design lessons that are engaging, structured, and practical.
I teach:
