About Nicole

I am a qualified teacher with over 8 years of teaching and tutoring experience in various subjects (science with a focus on biology, French, English and Slovak) currently teaching at a high school in the Czech republic. I have 3 years of experience in teaching Slovak language to adults at both beginners and conversational level. Over the time, I had 8 different students, most of them with little or no knowledge of this language who gradually learned both fondamental Slovak vocabulary and grammar and how to use them in everyday conversations.

About the lesson

Ahoj!
My name is Nicole and I have 3 years of experience in teaching Slovak language to foreigners. I am happy to give online lessons, in which you will learn a mix of grammar, new vocabulary and how to use it all in conversations. My lessons are based on a Slovak textbook called 'Krížom krážom Slovenčina', however offering lots of additional explanations, exercises and adjusted to your personal needs and previous knowledge.

So if you have someone close to you from Slovakia and you would like to communicate with them on a whole new level or if you are just interested in learning this wonderful Slavic language, get in touch with me! I offer lessons to anyone, from complete beginners, who want to learn their basics, to more advance students, who just need to perfect their speaking, grammar or vocabulary.

And if you are from Slovakia and you are searching for somebody who could help you with Slovak grammar, literature or vocabulary or you need to prepare for exams in Slovakia, I will be happy to help you too!

Excellent! Nika and I have had weekly lessons for several months now, initially over Skype then also in person. She has been really good in tailoring her approach to meet my objectives (improving my vocabulary, listening & speaking skills). Nika has referred to commonly used Slovak teaching materials which people may recognise if they have done courses elsewhere. She has been flexible in both when and how we meet, and also very reliable. I would highly recommend her.

James is very teachable, communicative and nice. I'm very happy to teach him as all the lessons with him are very pleasant, funny and interesting. He learns very quickly and he is always willing to correct his mistakes or learn something more difficult.

She has great general knowledge on culture so she is able to answer nearly all questions in her field and if she can't answer she will do research so you can understand every aspect of the subject even if is slightly not the subject. In addition, she is very patient, therefore she never gets angry when teaching. Nicole has mastered 3 languages, going though 3 very different educational systems which have given her an open mind and innovative way of teaching. Finally helping and teaching others is in her nature and as long as I can remember her, she was always transmitting her knowledge to others. I'm probably not the only one who can say they succeeded this year, thanks to Nicole

She is very friendly and communicative person. She is intelligent and she has a wide variety of interests and you can have a great conversation with her about many topics. She is very patient and if you show an interest to learn something she can get very passionate about teaching you new things. I'd definitely recommend her as a good young teacher not only because I know her in person but also because of many experience when she helped me with my French essays and taught me grammar I misunderstood at the classes. If she could help me with my French through the internet and videocalls I am sure she can teach you even better in person!

Nicole is intelligent but also patient. When I was struggling with my homework, she was here for me. I like her style of tutoring. Nicole is always trying to teach you in a way that you come up with the correct answer. She knows how to explain easily hard things.
Nicole stays calm and does not shout.

When I needed help with my French oral skills, we were talking together about topics that we are interested in. This helped me to actually enjoy our lessons.
