About Joshua

I'm a native Spanish speaker from Costa Rica with a background in psychology and acting, as well as experience working with teenagers and young adults in individual and group settings.
I believe learning a language is about more than memorizing vocabulary and grammar rules. It's about feeling comfortable expressing yourself, connecting with others, and communicating naturally in everyday situations.
My approach is personalized, interactive, and focused on building confidence through real conversations. Whether you're just starting to learn Spanish or already know the basics but struggle to speak comfortably, I'll help you practice, improve, and develop your skills at your own pace.

About the lesson

My Spanish lessons are designed for beginners and intermediate learners who want to improve their communication skills, strengthen their understanding of the language, and feel more comfortable speaking Spanish in everyday situations.

We'll start by discussing your current level, learning goals, and the areas you'd like to improve. From there, I'll personalize each lesson to your needs, whether you're studying Spanish for school, preparing for a trip, or simply interested in becoming more conversational.

Depending on your goals, we can work on:

- Conversation and fluency: Practicing realistic situations and everyday interactions.
- Pronunciation: Improving clarity and becoming more comfortable speaking.
- Vocabulary and grammar: Building a stronger foundation for expressing yourself.
- Listening comprehension: Developing your ability to understand spoken Spanish.
- Academic support: Working through school assignments and preparing for exams or presentations.
Lessons may include guided conversations, interactive exercises, practical examples, and feedback to help you recognize your strengths and areas for improvement.
I especially enjoy helping students who already understand some Spanish but hesitate when it's time to speak. My goal is to create a comfortable environment where you can ask questions, make mistakes, and improve at your own pace.
Whether you're a teenager, college student, or adult learner, I'll adapt our sessions to your experience and goals.
vocabulary and grammar support
homework and school-course review
reading and listening comprehension
preparation for tests, presentations, or oral exams

Lessons are adapted to the student’s level, interests, and goals. Whether you need help improving your grade or simply want to feel more comfortable speaking Spanish, we’ll build a plan around what you actually need.
