About Dasha
Hi! My name is Dasha, and I’m a Computer Engineering student at NJIT with a strong background in math, programming, and STEM.
I have experience teaching and working with students through my role as a coding instructor, where I’ve taught topics including Python, Scratch, robotics, and beginner programming to students of different ages and experience levels. I really enjoy helping students understand difficult concepts and seeing them become more confident in subjects they may have struggled with before.
Academically, I’ve completed advanced coursework in calculus, physics, chemistry, computer science, and writing, and I scored a 1530 on the SAT(790 math). I especially enjoy math and programming, and I try to explain concepts in a clear and approachable way rather than making students simply memorize formulas or steps.
I’m patient, encouraging, and happy to adapt my teaching style to each student. Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for an exam, improving their SAT Math score, or learning to code for the first time, my goal is to make the material feel much more manageable.

My lessons are personalized to each student’s level, goals, and learning style. I focus on helping students truly understand the material instead of just memorizing steps, and I break difficult concepts down into clear, manageable parts.
Depending on the subject, lessons can include reviewing class material, working through practice problems, preparing for tests, strengthening weak areas, or getting ahead. For SAT Math, I can also help with problem-solving strategies, timing, and common question types.
For programming, I like to make lessons hands-on and interactive. Students can learn through small projects, guided coding exercises, and real examples using languages and tools such as Python, Java, and Scratch.
I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel free to ask questions, make mistakes, and build confidence. Lessons can be adjusted for middle school, high school, or students who are just beginning to explore coding and STEM.
