About Ezra Taylor
I bring a medical school background to chemistry, physics, and biochemistry tutoring. Before starting medical school, I completed advanced coursework in chemistry, physics, and science during my junior year, and biochemistry was a core unit in my medical training. I have a transcript to back this up.
I know these subjects from both sides: as a student who worked through them at a high level, and as someone who later had to apply them directly in a clinical setting. That gives me a practical, exam-focused way of teaching, rather than just reciting theory.
I also tutor students preparing for college, and I am comfortable with English 100, 101, and 104, Psychology 1, Advanced Chemistry, and Biology, so I can support a student across their broader course load, not just one subject in isolation.

My approach starts with figuring out where a student actually stands, not where the syllabus says they should be. I ask them to walk me through a recent problem or topic, and that tells me whether the gap is in the fundamentals, the application, or just exam technique. From there, I build lessons around their specific course and textbook rather than teaching in the abstract.
A typical lesson starts with a quick review of what came before, then moves into the new material broken into small steps, with plenty of worked examples before the student tries one alone. I stop often to check understanding rather than lecturing straight through, and I leave time at the end for practice problems and a short recap of what to focus on before we meet again.
What sets me apart is that I have worked through this material at a high level myself, including biochemistry as part of medical training, and I have also had to apply it directly in a clinical setting. That means I can connect abstract concepts to real, concrete examples, which tends to make things click faster than a purely textbook explanation.
My lessons work well for high school students tackling chemistry or physics, students in introductory college science courses, and anyone preparing for college who needs support across English, psychology, or biology alongside their science coursework.
