Hello! My name is Sam. I am a keen percussionist and singer, and have completed a BA in Music (First Class) and a fully funded Master's in Musicology from the University of Oxford. I have over 5 years' teaching experience overall, and have an enhanced DBS and extensive safeguarding training. Looking forward to meeting you!

Composing is speaking through sound, and I can help you find your voice. I offer help and advice to music students at GCSE and A-Level standard, using a strong grounding in theory and composition principles to enable students to express themselves independently. I have over 4 years' experience in music and theory tuition and composition advice. Lessons are normally an hour in length, but I can offer longer lessons if needed.

I could honestly not recommend Sam enough. He helped my daughter understand complicated musical concepts by breaking them down into easy bits. This made her more able to figure out how to play her piano pieces. She really loved learning with him, and I would recommend him to anyone wanting to learn music theory.

Could not recommend Sam enough as a tutor! He managed to turn even the most daunting of my dissertation-related problems into easy, manageable tasks and worked incredibly hard to make sure I felt motivated and confident throughout our lessons. Despite picking a somewhat niche dissertation topic, Sam went above and beyond to ensure he had a firm grasp of the issues at hand so that we could have a fruitful discussion. If you ever feel lost or stuck with a dissertation, Sam will be an absolute lifesaver.
