About Fergus
Hi! My name is Fergus and I am an Engineering Science student. I am currently in my fourth year at the University of Oxford. I enjoy learning about science subjects, and I’m passionate about teaching them in an engaging and entertaining way.
When I’m not studying Engineering, I enjoy outdoor sports like mountain biking and hiking. I am a basketball fanatic, and spend many hours on the court every week, training and playing with my University’s basketball team. I also like to play the guitar and I’m part of my University’s Formula Student Engineering team. We’re planning to build an electric race car!

I have extensive experience in tutoring, having tutored my first student at age 13. Past work has included teaching students in Hong Kong across an online platform, tutoring younger pupils after school and teaching an intensive Physics IB course to a larger class. I would say that my principle skills include the ability to explain concepts clearly in a step-by-step way, in a way that my students can understand. I have a warm and engaging personality that children and adults alike appreciate, while still being able to maintain conditions for optimum learning.
