About James
I'm currently studying Medicine at the University of Oxford, ranking in the top 10% of the year group in exams. At school, my average grade at GCSE was 8.5 across 11 subjects, including 9s in maths and sciences, and A*s in maths and biology at A level.
I enjoy teaching and using my own experience of how to help others maximise outcomes for exam preparation, working smarter, and growing in understanding of their subject.
I have experience working with young people from a range of educational, social and cultural backgrounds. So whether you're aiming to simply pass your exams or hit the top grades, I'd love to work with you.
I aim to create a friendly, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, grow in confidence, and are motivated to achieve their full potential.

I place a strong emphasis on exam technique, showing students how to structure answers, avoid common mistakes, and pick up those crucial extra marks that can make all the difference.

Rather than simply explaining content, I make lessons as interactive as possible through discussion, questioning, worked examples, and plenty of opportunities for you to explain concepts in your own words. This helps uncover misconceptions early and develops a much deeper understanding, making revision easier and knowledge more memorable.
My goal is not only to help you achieve excellent exam results but also to make learning enjoyable and give you the confidence to tackle even the most challenging questions independently.
