About Jonathan
Hi, I’m Jonathan Tesfaye—a dedicated math tutor and current neuroscience major at Emory University. I’ve always enjoyed helping others understand complex ideas, especially when it comes to math. Through years of tutoring experience, I’ve developed a calm, supportive teaching style that makes students feel comfortable asking questions and taking their time to truly grasp the material. I specialize in topics ranging from algebra to precalculus, and I focus on building strong problem-solving skills and boosting long-term confidence. I bring a strong academic background, a deep understanding of how students learn, and a commitment to making math feel less intimidating and more doable. My approach blends patience, clear communication, and encouragement—because I believe learning happens best when students feel heard and supported. Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about neuroscience, mentoring, and making education more accessible for all students.

As a math tutor, I prioritize a student-first approach, meeting each learner where they are and building from there. Jonathan is easily the best math tutor I’ve had. He explains concepts clearly, is incredibly patient, and actually helps you understand the material, not just memorize it.
