I approach topics with a broad overview so we can uncover what gaps in knowledge there are. Then I like to ask leading questions so we can do a deep dive of what the mechanisms are, why they exist, what their functions are, etc. I can explain my understanding first, but it won't stick with you until you can reteach your way of understanding back to me.
