About Nariman
Throughout my academic and professional career, I have worked extensively with mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, probability, statistics, optimization, differential equations, and other advanced mathematical and engineering topics. My research experience has also given me the opportunity to apply these concepts to real-world problems in communications, machine learning, and engineering.
As a tutor, my goal is to create a patient and comfortable learning environment where students feel free to ask questions. I believe difficult mathematical concepts become much easier when they are explained intuitively and built up step by step. I want my students to understand the reasoning behind a solution rather than simply memorize formulas or procedures.
Whether you are trying to strengthen your fundamentals, improve your grades, prepare for an exam, or tackle advanced college-level mathematics, I will adapt my teaching to your background, pace, and goals.

My teaching style is structured, interactive, and adapted to each student’s level. I usually start by identifying where the student is comfortable and where the main difficulties are. From there, I explain concepts step by step, using intuitive examples before moving to equations and more challenging problems. I also focus heavily on problem-solving techniques, because understanding how to approach a problem is often more valuable than simply memorizing a formula.
A typical lesson may include a short review of previous material, explanation of a new concept, guided examples, and then problems for the student to solve independently with my support. I adjust the pace based on the student and can spend more time on fundamentals when needed or move quickly into advanced material for stronger students.
What sets me apart is my combination of strong mathematical foundations and real-world engineering experience. I have used mathematics extensively in research and industry, including probability, statistics, optimization, linear algebra, calculus, signal processing, machine learning, and communication systems. This allows me to explain not only how mathematical methods work, but also why they matter and where they are used in practice.
I can help students with mathematics at a wide range of levels, including middle school, high school, college, and university courses. Topics can include algebra, geometry, trigonometry, precalculus, calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, probability, statistics, discrete mathematics, optimization, and mathematics used in engineering and related technical fields.
