About Erfan
I’m Dr. Erfan Mohagheghian, a PhD engineer with more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked with high-school, IB, AP, university, and engineering students in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and related technical subjects.
My goal is to make difficult material clear and manageable. I’m patient, organized, and very comfortable adapting explanations to different students and different learning styles.
I place a strong emphasis on understanding, problem solving, and building confidence rather than simply memorizing formulas. I also try to make lessons practical and efficient, especially when students are preparing for tests, exams, or challenging assignments.
I take tutoring seriously and prepare carefully for each student’s needs.

I focus on helping students understand the reasoning behind each concept rather than simply memorizing formulas or procedures. I explain ideas step by step, connect them to what the student already knows, and then reinforce them through carefully chosen practice problems.
Lessons are interactive and held online using a shared whiteboard where both the student and I can write. A typical session begins with a quick review of the student’s current topic and any areas of difficulty, followed by explanation, worked examples, and guided practice. I gradually increase the difficulty as the student becomes more comfortable.
I have more than 10 years of teaching and tutoring experience and a PhD in Engineering. I tutor mathematics, physics, chemistry, and engineering subjects at the high-school, IB, AP, university, and engineering levels.
Students are welcome to send their course notes, worksheets, assignments, or practice problems beforehand so that lessons can be tailored directly to their course. I also provide lesson notes and session recordings for review afterward.
