About Scott
I’m Scott, a PhD mathematician with university teaching experience in Calculus I, Calculus II, and Precalculus. I also have more than 20 years of professional experience in computing and cybersecurity.
I bring both academic depth and practical experience to tutoring, and I aim to create a patient, respectful environment where students can ask questions freely and develop genuine understanding rather than simply memorize procedures.

I’m Scott, a PhD mathematician, former university instructor and former cybersecurity professional. I focus on helping students understand why a method works, not just how to imitate it.
My lessons are interactive and problem-centered, but most importantly, student-centered. I'm there to help you and to answer your concerns.
I have taught Calculus I, Calculus II, and Precalculus at the university level, and I also tutor linear algebra, discrete mathematics, and introductory C programming. My background in mathematics, computer science, and cybersecurity helps me explain both abstract ideas and practical problem-solving.
I work primarily with high school and college students, especially those who want stronger conceptual understanding, better problem-solving skills, and more confidence with challenging material.
