About Jolan

I am a graphic designer, photographer and retoucher, passionate about image and photography. After obtaining a license in applied arts, I worked in France and in the United States, as a freelance and employee in different companies working in many fields such as fashion, product photography, automotive, sport, or even architecture. But photography is not just the sublimation of reality. It is also an artistic work through more personal subjects, which is why I accompany students in the establishment of series, research, and personal development through author photography. Today I am the founder of a visual creation agency and a photography teacher.

Photography is for me as much a means of communication as a means of free expression. I therefore approach the teaching according to the personality and the expectations of the student. It all depends on the expectations of the student. But it is not necessary to have an SLR to learn the history of photography, just as it is not necessary to have a good computer to do film photography -The first objective is to define a guideline to focus on. -Based on this guideline, we will develop a link of references which we will study and dissect. This goes through all fields, whether visual, musical, artistic, commercial or even political. - Then and in parallel with these references will be established a series of practical and theoretical exercises. - We will then come back from current courses on what has been done and on the autonomy of the student. Having practiced and still practicing photography in various fields, I make a point of honor to always work according to the subjectivity of the student (e). In order to make sure that the concepts transmitted are the right ones, that the practice is correct, and that the knowledge is acquired. This is why I set up a Facebook group accessible to students, in order to guarantee long-term follow-up and to share my thoughts and discoveries of the moment. The first course being free, I offer the second course an essay entitled "Photography as language", written by myself and being the central point of my current courses.
