About Anna
Hi, I’m Anna! I recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. I have over three years of experience tutoring K–12 students in math through Mathnasium, where I worked with students at many different levels and helped them build confidence in problem-solving.
My tutoring style is patient, encouraging, and focused on understanding rather than memorizing steps. I like to figure out where a student is getting stuck, explain the idea in a way that makes sense to them, and then guide them through practice until they feel more comfortable. I especially enjoy helping students who feel frustrated with math realize that they are capable of learning it with the right support.

I had a great experience learning physics from Anna! She was patient, willing to re-explain concepts, and drew out all the problems for me. She was excellent at letting me solve the problem while also helping me if I wasn’t able to figure it out myself. Hi! My name is Alyssa. Anna and I have been best friends since middle school, and we grew up together. Ever since middle school and high school, and recently in college, Anna has helped me improve my math skills! I have never been good with numbers, but Anna explains them to me in a way that I can actually understand, unlike a textbook. She breaks down problems step by step and is always making sure I know what’s going on before moving forward.
I am currently taking Calculus I, and I have never been more confused, especially since it’s been a while since I’ve done any sort of math. But with Anna’s help, I am finally understanding my homework, doing well on quizzes and tests, and getting the hang of it! She’s an amazing teacher, and doing math with her is always a fun time!10/10 tutor, I could not recommend Anna more. I hired Anna when I was struggling with Calc 1 and she was very patient and kind from the start. I have been struggling with math my whole life and she is the first tutor to make math truly comprehensible for me.
She breaks things down in ways that works for you and personalizes her teaching style to match your learning style. If you don't understand it the first time, she will explain it in as many different ways as you need till it clicks.
You can tell that she's truly passionate about helping students understand math as she believes math shouldn't be out of reach for anyone. She reminded me that when I struggle with math, it's not my fault, I just haven't been taught the way I learn.
