About Spencer

I have a Bachelor's degree in both Physics and Mathematics from WPI. I received the Salisbury Prize in Physics and a meritorious senior award in mathematics and am a member of both the National Physics and National Mathematics Honors Society.

I have worked in two physics labs, performing research ranging from Terahertz Spectroscopy to Fluid Mechanics.

I am currently pursuing a Master's degree in Physics from Brown University.

About the lesson

I love to share my passion for math and physics with others. I am a very practical tutor. I like to supplement worked examples with real physical lessons. A combination of hands-on learning and pen-and-paper calculations. My specialty is making math and physics feel relevant to everyone!

Most lessons begin with a review of the material and then advance to collaborative problem-solving. If the student has specific problems they are stuck on, I am happy to work through similar examples and review specific problem-solving methods.

Lessons are available at the high school and college levels.

Spencer was my tutor for several college and postgraduate level math classes. He is patient, kind, and passionate about helping people learn. He genuinely cultivates an environment where I felt safe to ask any questions, and his knowledge of the material is comprehensive. His ability to explain things multiple ways meant that he was able to help me understand vector calculus concepts that took my professor two hours in fifteen minutes. I cannot recommend him enough.
