About Willow
I spent 2 years tutoring GCSE students in biology while studying for my A-levels. I am comfortable with a range of teaching methods. I also currently teach school children from ages 4-18 about various biological concepts as part of a science outreach programme, and I demonstrate on undergraduate courses. I am therefore happy to teach at all levels and am up to date on DBS checks.
I worked my way up to a master's degree in biology at Cambridge, learning essential study skills and discipline along the way. I also won a gold medal in the Biology Olympiad at school, completed a biology-focused EPQ, and received a CREST award for my project on circadian rhythms in rodents.

I am aware that every student has different needs when it comes to learning style, exam board, and confidence with the material. This is why I offer personally tailored lessons based on each individual. I allow the student to drive the format based on their preferences so that they can get the most out of their sessions. I start with identifying and filling knowledge gaps, then we will work on understanding and linking ideas, before finally moving to mark scheme optimisation and understanding what the examiner is looking for in your answers.
