About Camille

Hi! I am a current college student pursuing a double major in English and Dance at Dominican University of California. I am originally from Fort Worth, TX. I graduated high school in 2023 with Honors and a 4.2 GPA. After I took 2 gap years to dance ballet professionally, I decided to go to university. I was accepted into the LINES BFA program, and received the Fletcher Jones Emerging Leaders Scholarship, which is a full ride based on Academic Excellence and Achievement. After my first semester, I decided to pursue a double major in English, in addition to dance. I have loved my first year and have maintained a 4.0 GPA.

I have experience in tutoring students K-12 in subjects such as English, Math, and Science, and Dance. My passion and specialty, however, is in English and Writing. I come from a family of writers and English teachers; I learned to read at 4 years old and began writing paragraphs, book reports, and essays by 6 years old. I absolutely love teaching and sharing my passion for English with young students!

About the lesson

My approach is rooted in teaching my students the tools they need to succeed, while simultaneously encouraging them to build confidence and mastery in their newfound skill.

Writing and grammar are more formulaic than one would expect, which is why I teach students integral concepts that will positively shape the way they write and think with efficiency. Diagramming sentences, sentence structure help, identifying literary devices, vocabulary expansion, paragraph formula, and the 5 paragraph essay formula are some of the concepts that will be introduced and built upon in our sessions.

Additionally, I value parental engagement and feedback. I am excited to work in collaboration with passionate students who want to increase their confidence, understanding, and knowledge surrounding English and Writing!
