About Oceana

Acting Coaching with Oceana Dix

Hi, I’m Oceana — a Toronto-based actor, singer, and performance coach with a Master’s degree in Musical Theatre and over 15 years of experience on stage and in performance training.

I work with actors, performers, and artists who want to deepen their craft, build confidence, and bring more authenticity to their work.

My background includes professional theatre, musical performance, and film work through my production company, Camp on Fire Productions. I’ve performed internationally in productions such as Spring Awakening, A Little Night Music, and Next to Normal, and I collaborate with artists connected to projects like Schitt’s Creek, Kim’s Convenience, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Alongside my artistic career, I’m also a certified life coach. This allows me to support actors not only with technique, but with the mental and emotional tools needed to perform honestly and sustainably.

As a transgender performer, I also create spaces where Queer and trans actors can explore identity and storytelling in a supportive environment. Many of my students come to me because they want a coach who understands the intersection of artistry, vulnerability, and self-expression.

Whether you’re preparing for auditions, developing your craft, or exploring acting for the first time, I’m here to help you grow as a performer.

Lessons are available in Toronto or online worldwide.

About the lesson

Acting Coaching for Film, Theatre & Performance

Acting isn’t just about memorizing lines. It’s about understanding human behavior, emotional truth, and how to bring a character fully to life.

In our sessions, we work on:

• script and character analysis
• emotional accessibility and authenticity
• audition preparation (including self-tapes)
• voice and movement for actors
• stage presence and confidence

My teaching draws from major acting approaches such as Stanislavski, Meisner, and Alexander Technique, while also incorporating my background in vocal training and performance psychology.

⸻

What I Offer

Character Development
Explore motivations, relationships, and subtext to create layered performances.

Audition Coaching
Prepare sides, polish self-tapes, and build confidence for film, TV, and theatre auditions.

Voice & Body Integration
Use breath, voice, and movement to bring physical life to characters.

Identity-Centered Coaching
For Queer and trans actors, explore the relationship between identity and storytelling in a supportive environment.

⸻

Who This Is For

• beginner actors curious about acting
• theatre students
• film and TV performers preparing auditions
• singers or performers expanding into acting
• Queer and trans actors seeking supportive coaching

You don’t need professional experience to start. Curiosity and willingness to explore are enough.

⸻

Ready to Work Together?

I offer a free consultation so we can talk about your goals and see if the coaching is a good fit.

Whether you’re preparing your next audition, building your confidence as a performer, or discovering acting for the first time, I’d love to help you grow.

George

He is the best tutor that you can wish for. He gets his job seriously and invests on his students. He has structure and plan during his lessons. The important thing about his lessons is, with the seriousness of the work he always stays super nice and approachable. When he teaches it seems everything flows for him and seamless lessons shows his professionalism and abilities.
Sometimes, even when things are not going too well with my learning he tries to help me and doesn't give up, on the student, and encourages me to do better. While his smile makes things much easier and you don't feel bad about your mistakes.

My name is Pablosky Rosales , I am a Musician and film composer ;I’ve known Tylor since 2017 and I had the pleasure to collaborate with him in a few of my projects , for which I was in the need of a solid lyricist with great vocal abilities and I was deeply impressed by his talent. Later I learned that he is much more than an excellent writer as he is a classically trainer singer who majored in musical theatre . I had also the pleasure to watch a short movie he co-wrote and directed besides playing one of the leading roles which made a pleasant impression on me as he demonstrated his tremendous versatility as an artist . Last but not least , I listened to his most recent voice acting demo reel in which he exhibits not only great acting skills but also a high level of command of histrionics .
Talent apart , Tylor is a beautiful human being , friendly , good listener , and with a gift to communication which makes him in my regard a great educator / communicator.
