About Joe
I’m Joe — an international rugby player, coach, and personal trainer based in London.
My work sits where sport meets people who don’t always get access to it. I have set up, worked in and with charitable organisations such Afewee and with Up The Greatness, and I’ve built training programmes for young athletes (professional, student, and disabled athletes) globally. I have worked at Bryanston School, Whitgift School and Ultimate Rugby Sevens Academy.
I also deliver adaptive and inclusive sessions for disabled athletes, because the principles of good coaching don’t change — only the route in does.
Youth development is the thread through all of it. I’ve watched what happens when a fourteen-year-old who’s been written off finds a space / coach where somebody expects something of them, believes in them and understands them. That’s the space I try to create.
Alongside coaching I’m an Army Reserve soldier, a mental health advocate, and involved in charitable work I care about more than I talk about.

I’m a Loughborough Sport Management graduate, a Level 3 qualified personal trainer (pre and postnatal) and Nutrition coach.
I am also a professional and international rugby player currently training towards 2028 Olympic selection. I’ve coached at Bryanston School, Whitgift School and UR7s.
I tutor students in:
→ GCSE and A-Level PE and Sport Science
→ BTEC Sport (Levels 2 and 3)
→ University applications for sport-related degrees — personal statements, course choice, interview prep
→ Sport management, coaching theory and strength & conditioning fundamentals
→ Athlete mentoring: balancing training loads with academic demands
What makes my sessions different is that I’ve lived the syllabus. When we cover energy systems or periodisation, I’m not reciting a textbook — I’m describing how I structured my own week ahead of international selection. Students remember that.
I work especially well with teenage athletes trying to hold school and sport together at once, and with students who’ve never quite clicked with a classroom setting. I’m patient, direct, and I’ll tell you honestly what needs work.
Outside tutoring I’m an Army Reserve soldier and a mental health advocate focused on youth development. I take the responsibility of working with young people seriously.
First session is a conversation about where you are and where you want to get to. No pressure, no jargon.
