About Hutton

Professional touring bassist with minor in music performance on bass guitar from Mississippi State University. Specialized in rock and metal styles of playing, with gigging experience in funk, pop, country, and jazz styles. I'm a bass player first and foremost!

About the lesson

You are the center of your curriculum. I am so over cookie cutter bass lessons acting like everyone should always know the major scale and a James Jamerson tune before anything else. If you're into motown, that's a great start, but if you're into metal and punk no way that's on the agenda! I view my job as understanding you as a musician, your wants, dreams, tastes, and creating a plan that drives you to THAT goal, not some ambiguous 'bass player' gauntlet that drives alot of lazy teachers.

I'm serious about music but like to have fun. I bring that mindset to each student.
