About Joe

I am a qualified primary school teacher with a PGCE, and I have spent several years working with children, where I’ve had the privilege of helping students build the foundational skills they need for future success. My teaching philosophy is centred around creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive. I believe that learning should be a fun, engaging, and empowering experience, and I aim to help students feel confident in their abilities while also challenging them to grow.

I want to teach because I am passionate about helping young minds unlock their full potential. Over the years, I’ve seen how personalised support can make a real difference in a child’s academic progress and self-esteem. I’m committed to being a patient, supportive, and encouraging presence, whether in the classroom or during one-on-one tutoring sessions. Helping students reach their goals, whether it’s excelling in SATs, preparing for the 11+, or mastering core subjects, is incredibly rewarding for me.

Teaching isn’t just about academic success; it’s about nurturing a love for learning that will stay with a child for life. I’m excited about making a lasting impact on my students, helping them not only succeed but also enjoy the process of learning.

About the lesson

*Updated pricing from September 2026*

As a qualified primary school teacher with a PGCE, I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment where every student feels valued and confident. My tutoring approach is centred around personalised, student-focused lessons that cater to each child’s unique learning needs and pace.

What I Focus On:

Tailored Lessons: I customise my lessons to match your child’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that they build the skills they need for success, whether preparing for SATs, the 11+, or core subjects.

Confidence Building: I take pride in boosting my students’ confidence by breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and celebrating their progress. I want every child to feel positive about their learning journey.

Engagement & Fun: Learning doesn’t have to be boring! I incorporate games, interactive activities, and real-world examples to keep lessons interesting and relevant, helping students stay motivated and excited to learn.

Clear Communication: I believe in keeping parents updated on their child’s progress and providing practical tips for reinforcing learning at home. Together, we can help your child reach their full potential.

Joe has had a couple of math GCSE tutoring with my stepdaughter and just in those two lessons, she has begun to speak more confidently about the upcoming maths exam. Joe is patient, and explains things in a way that is easy to understand, answers all questions with care and makes it a pleasant learning environment.
