About Shammah

I’m Shammah, a Computer Science and Physics teacher based in Manchester. Alongside teaching, I run a small digital and creative business, so I use the tech I teach in the real world every week. That helps me show students why it matters beyond the exam.

I became a teacher because I love the moment something clicks: when a programme finally runs, or a Physics idea that seemed impossible suddenly makes sense. A lot of students aren’t struggling because they can’t do it. They just haven’t had it explained in a way that works for them yet, or they’ve lost confidence along the way. One-to-one tutoring lets me fix exactly that.

I’m patient, calm and honest about where you are and what it’ll take to get where you want to be. My aim is for you to leave each lesson feeling more capable than when you arrived.

About the lesson

I teach Computer Science and Physics full-time in a Manchester secondary school, and my lessons work the same way my classroom does: clear, structured and built around the student in front of me.

Every session follows a simple pattern. First I show you how it’s done, then we work through it together, then you try it on your own while I watch where you get stuck. That last part matters most. It’s how gaps get found and fixed, not just covered.

I explain things in plain English, without jargon for the sake of it. For Computer Science, that means lots of hands-on Python and step-by-step algorithm practice. For Physics and Maths it means worked examples, then exam-style questions. I make my own workbooks and quick quizzes, so you’ll always leave with something to practise.

I know the specifications for AQA, OCR, Edexcel and WJEC/Eduqas, so we focus on what your exam actually asks for. I also support A-Level students with their NEA programming project.

Lessons are online, but in-person classes can also be arranged.
