About Smangele
I am an educator at an online high school. I have been teaching Mathematics and Physical Sciences since the beginning of 2019 until now. I graduated with a Bachelor of Education at the university of the Witwatersrand in 2018. I have taught at a public school for 3 years and now I work at an online private school. I volunteered at Dr Harry Gwala Comprehensive School in 2017 as a tutor, offering group lessons to grade 11 Physical Sciences learners. I am a Chemical Engineering student at the University of the Witswatersrand.

I believe in learner centered lessons, mostly because I teach practical subjects. Maths is a doing subjects, the learners have to be actively engaged so that as a teacher I can try and analyze their level of understanding and so that they can also get used to the practice and master problem solving skills because their brains will be getting trained now and then. Physical sciences is also a practical subject and it teaches the learner to understand the universe. As an educator I believe in scaffolding, helping the learner structure existing knowledge the correct way. I introduce the next concept at the end of each lesson so that the learner can go gather as much information as they can and come back to the next lesson with something and we take it from there.

Details
For grade 10 and 11 learners I charge R250 when they come to my house, R350 when I go their house and R200 for an online lesson. For grade 12s, I charge R300 when they come to my house, R400 when I go to theirs and R250 for an online lesson.
