About Luke
Hello, I am a Physics undergraduate seeking experience in teaching by tutoring GCSE and A level students. I have just completed year 1 of a Masters Degree in Astrophysics. Whilst at grammar school, I was involved in maths mentoring of KS3 and KS4 students. I achieved 3 A*s in Maths, Further Maths and Physics A levels. I achieved the top results in Further Maths and Physics in my year group. I have previously achieved a Silver and a Bronze award in the UKMT senior maths challenge. While schemes of work for A level and GCSE subjects frequently change, I have experienced the most up to date CCEA syllabuses in these subjects.

While I have no formal experience in teaching, whilst I was a Maths mentor I taught students using a variety of worked examples, subsequently allowing them to work independently on questions. Through informal observation I identified any students who were struggling and was able to reinforce learning through extension activities. There was a wide ability range within the mentoring group but I was able to maximise each pupil's potential by setting them suitable tasks.
