About Helena

I have a PhD in Communication and media studies. I have been teaching research methodology for the last 10 years at UJ, IIEVega and Monash South Africa. I can assist you in writing your research proposal; academic writing; and referencing.

About the lesson

My teaching method is to discuss the topic at hand, ensure that the student understands what is required from them before I give my input. Research is about discovery, and therefore it is important to have a discussion around your topic.

Perfect! I requested help with my research proposal for final from Helena. I really enjoyed the sessions I had with her. She is just great at what she does. She helped me with fixing my hypotheses so that they were aligned, and my lecturer was happy with the changes. The literature review and the methodology she also helped me with and it made the research more pleasant.

My lecturer had left comment on my projects with suggestions for corrections and Helena went through this with me to help me see where I had gone wrong and how I could improve. One of the great parts about this was that I also managed to fill in some knowledge gaps that I had. Since I had not done so well in research in first semester it was so helpful to have her help me. Second semester was a lot smoother and I had a lot more peace of mind knowing that she would help me where I was a bit lost.

Helena was just fantastic. I had a very good experience.

Helena's response
Elijah had a good Project 1 and his academic writing is really good. He just needs to do the readings for his literature review.
