About Ivan

As a USC & UCLA graduate in aerospace engineering, and as a tutor with 4+ years of experience helping students raise test scores, grades, and confidence, I know how to break down the hardest material into something clear and intuitive. Teachers and test prep books often present content in a one-size-fits-all way. But every student learns differently, especially when tackling the high-pressure world of standardized testing and college prep. My approach is simple: I tailor lessons to how each student thinks, turning test-taking into a skill set they can actually master. I’ve built my tutoring around one core mission: disproving the myth that only “naturally smart” students succeed. Standardized tests are coachable. College essays can be structured into compelling stories. With the right support, every student can thrive. Here’s what I offer in SAT/ACT & college prep:
* SAT/ACT + Subject Test Mastery – pacing strategies, common traps, data analysis, and algebra-to-trig refreshers.
* Reading & Writing for the SAT/ACT – skimming efficiently, evidence-based reading, grammar mastery, and essay prep.
* College Essay Coaching – from brainstorming to polished final drafts, especially for STEM-focused applicants.
* Study Skills & Test-Day Strategy – time management, confidence building, and simulation under real test conditions.
I create personalized study plans based on diagnostic results and student goals. Every session is structured, goal-driven, and ends with targeted practice to reinforce what we cover.
