About Jake

As a Bachelor of Science student and aspiring doctor, I bring a strong academic foundation and a passion for teaching to each session. With experience tutoring a range of subjects in math, science, and GAMSAT preparation, I am dedicated to helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. I know how challenging these subjects can be, and I am committed to making complex concepts accessible and understandable.

About the lesson

My Approach to Tutoring

In my sessions, I focus on breaking down complex concepts in math and science into clear, understandable steps, helping students connect theory with real-world applications. I encourage active engagement and problem-solving during lessons, allowing students to build confidence and tackle difficult topics independently. For GAMSAT preparation, I emphasize critical thinking and the fundamental principles needed to excel in the exam, providing tailored strategies to meet each student’s strengths and goals.

Teaching Techniques and Methodology

I adapt my teaching to each student's learning style, using visual aids, examples, and practice questions to reinforce understanding. My approach balances conceptual understanding with practical exercises, ensuring students can apply knowledge to exam-style questions. I also integrate spaced repetition and regular review sessions to improve information retention.

Typical Length of a Lesson

Lessons are generally 1 hour, but I can adjust the length based on the student’s needs and concentration levels to ensure optimal learning.

Qualifications and Experience

As a Bachelor of Science student with a solid foundation in math, physics, and chemistry, I have a deep understanding of these subjects. I have experience tutoring at various levels and scored in the 85th percentile for the GAMSAT, making me particularly equipped to support others in this exam.

Who My Lessons Are For

I tutor students of all ages, from high school students preparing for exams to university students looking to strengthen their math and science skills. I also assist students aiming for competitive exams like the GAMSAT, offering guidance tailored to each individual’s needs.
