About John
I have just left St Albans School sixth form with the intention of going to medical school at Newcastle or Bristol University in September.
Prior to sixth form, I spent years 7-11 at Sandringham school to achieve my GCSEs. At both schools I had the opportunity to be prefect, working with and around students younger than me on a daily basis - developing invaluable skills in communication, earning respect, and trust.
In addition, I spent 6 months teaching primary school children stage skills to pass their grade 2 group drama exam at Theatrix drama school at the abbey theatre - developing techniques and strategies for successfully teaching ideas to younger children.

Having recently done final exams myself, I know the content of secondary school maths and science courses inside and out. Classes will first focus on understanding, making sure students properly grasp the fundamentals and details of their subjects alike. Then, in the lead-up to exams, classes will be based on up-to-date knowledge of what examiners and mark schemes are looking for; making a roadmap for what needs to be done to reach a student's potential. Despite what many teachers suggest, the content of a subject and the facts and techniques needed in an exam are different things: something that, I believe, needs to be distinguished to guarantee success.
At school, I was inquisitive, passionate, and curious in all my subjects, but especially maths and sciences. This led to me developing a complete understanding in and around my subjects all throughout school – furthermore allowing me to attain top grades. It is this same passion and curiosity that I hope to impart to students during teaching.
