About Tanmay
I’m Tanmay, a passionate and dedicated tutor who believes that learning should be clear, logical, and genuinely enjoyable. Having recently gone through the O-Level journey myself, I understand exactly where students tend to struggle — from complex Math problems to conceptual Science topics and tricky inference questions in Humanities. This helps me explain ideas in ways that actually make sense, not just sound right on paper. I teach because I enjoy helping students see that “aha” moment — when a concept finally clicks and confidence starts to build. My teaching style is calm, structured, and adaptable, ensuring every student feels supported while being consistently challenged to improve. I also focus heavily on exam strategy, time management, and mindset, since doing well is just as much about approach as it is about knowledge. Outside teaching, I’m deeply interested in science, technology, and creative projects — from designing websites and music to exploring how people learn best. I bring that same curiosity and enthusiasm into my lessons, encouraging students to think critically, ask questions, and enjoy the process of discovery.

Lessons are generally about two hours long, but I keep them flexible to match each student’s focus, progress, and goals. Every session is designed to be interactive, structured, and purposeful — starting with concept clarity, moving into guided examples, and finishing with independent application through practice questions or mini-tests.
My approach combines clear explanation with technique-driven learning. I emphasise understanding the “why” behind every concept instead of rote memorisation, which helps students retain ideas and apply them across subjects — for example, linking algebraic manipulation from A-Math to Physics equations, or understanding cause-and-effect reasoning in both History and Social Studies.
I use a mix of visual aids, concise notes, and past O-Level questions to strengthen conceptual understanding and exam readiness. Each lesson includes time for doubt-clearing, reflection, and short recaps to reinforce retention. Students are also guided on how to structure their answers effectively — whether in essay-based subjects like History or calculation-based ones like Math and Science.
I teach students aged 13–16, covering both lower and upper secondary levels. My lessons are tailored to the O-Level syllabus and focus on developing problem-solving ability, analytical thinking, and exam confidence. Above all, I aim to make learning an enjoyable and rewarding process — helping students feel challenged, supported, and capable of achieving their fullest potential.
