About Ethan
Sitting down for your first session, you will notice a focus on identifying gaps in your current technique. I will evaluate your ability to handle lead guitar parts or soloing while we discuss your goals. We can focus on perfecting your barre chords or sharpening your improvisation skills during our time together. My 11 years of experience allow me to detect subtle errors in your fingering before they become bad habits.
Returning learners often find this clarity shifts their entire perspective on the instrument. Every month, I provide a recorded review of your progress to keep our trajectory clear and measurable. This feedback loop helps maintain momentum even when specific techniques feel challenging.

Fifteen years ago I began performing in venues across Australia, building a deep connection to the Chilean nueva-cancion tradition. This performance history informs my teaching style as I guide returning learners and self-taught players who crave formal structure.
Having earned a music degree, I balance raw playing instincts with academic rigor. My teaching includes everything from power chords to complex scales and modes. Reading tabs and developing ear training are essential steps toward true musical independence. Flamenco and Argentine folk techniques feature heavily in my lessons for advanced students.
I draw on my heritage to provide authentic context for every concept. The guidance I provide is steady and grounded in decades of practice. You will find that my approach centers on making the guitar feel like an extension of your own voice.
