About Debotosh
I am a retired railway officer and a lifelong musician. Throughout my professional career, music was never a side interest—it remained a deeply meaningful part of my life. Alongside my responsibilities in the railways, I continued to learn, practice, compose, perform, and guide students with the same dedication.
Bengali songs carry poetry, emotion, memory, language, and a rich cultural inheritance. At a time when many of us—especially younger listeners—have fewer opportunities to connect deeply with this tradition, I feel encouraged to help learners rediscover it in a warm, meaningful, and accessible way. A Rabindra Sangeet or a Bengali modern song is not simply something to sing correctly; it is also a story, a feeling, and a world of expression to understand.
Now that I have retired, I look forward to devoting more time to sincere learners of every age. I enjoy helping students find their own voice, connect with the beauty and emotion of Bengali music, and build confidence through regular practice. I continue to read, research, and explore music because I believe an artist never stops learning.

The first 30-minute online demo class is free.
Each lesson is customised to the learner’s age, experience, voice, interests, and goals. I teach Rabindra Sangeet, Bengali modern songs, voice training, expression, sur, taal, breath control, and performance preparation in Bengali.
With 17+ years of training under Jatileswar Mukhopadhyay, Avijit Bandyopadhyay, and other respected teachers, I combine a strong musical foundation with patient, practical guidance. Classes typically include warm-ups, voice and sur practice, song learning, correction, interpretation, and a clear practice plan for the week.
I have composed 100+ songs and trained over 50 students. Several students have released YouTube videos on their own channels featuring songs composed and taught by me. Whether you are a beginner, a hobby learner, or preparing for a performance or recording, lessons are adapted to your pace and needs.
Bengali-only classes are available online, at my home in Parnasree, Behala, or at the student’s home in nearby areas.
