About Rodrigo
I’m a senior software engineer with around 20 years of professional experience building software, backend systems, infrastructure, data platforms and, more recently, AI systems.
Over those years I’ve worked across many technologies and seen software development change enormously. One thing hasn’t changed: good programmers learn how to understand problems and reason about solutions, rather than simply memorising languages and frameworks.
I enjoy helping people develop that way of thinking. I’m patient, practical and happy to explain something several different ways until it clicks. Whether you're completely new to programming, studying computer science, changing careers, or already coding and want guidance from someone with substantial industry experience, I can adapt the lessons to where you are now and where you want to get to.

I teach programming through practical, real-world examples rather than memorising syntax. With around 20 years of professional software development experience, I can help you understand not only how to write code, but how to think through problems and build software effectively.
Lessons are tailored to your current level and goals. We can work through Python fundamentals, debugging, APIs, databases, backend development, automation, Linux, AI, or your own projects and coursework.
For beginners, I focus on building confidence and understanding the fundamentals step by step. For more experienced students, we can work on real engineering problems, architecture, debugging, code quality and professional development practices.
I particularly welcome students who have tried tutorials or courses but still find themselves thinking, “I understand the example, but I wouldn't know how to build something myself.” My aim is to help bridge that gap.
