Hi! I’m Tasawar—a Computer Science graduate from Lehigh University, with over 6 years of experience teaching SHSAT and Common Core subjects to students across New York City. I’ve helped dozens of students boost their confidence, sharpen their skills, and gain admission to specialized high schools through targeted, engaging, and student-centered instruction. As a tutor with over 6 years of SHSAT and Common Core teaching experience, my approach focuses on clarity, engagement, and confidence-building. My goal is to help students master concepts effectively and stay motivated.
A typical lesson starts with a brief review of the previous topic, followed by a targeted mini-lesson based on the student's strengths and areas for improvement. We then apply what was learned through guided practice, timed drills, and strategic test-taking techniques. I make sure each lesson is interactive and personalized, encouraging students to ask questions, explain their thinking, and reflect on their progress.
