About Peace

I am Peace O. Chukwu, a B.Sc holder, Secretarial Administration. Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, Nigeria. I am also undergoing a master degree programe (Human Resources Management), faculty of management science, same institution.

I have worked as a basic computer study teacher, junior secondary class, with General Hassan College, Bauchi State. Also taught the same subject with Elshaddai and Betty Ivory Port Harcourt, Rivers State. Moreover, I have privately taught as a Literature in English tutor to Senior secondary and junor secondary classes. In addition to tutorial job I have worked as an office administrator in reputable organisation.

I am interested to teach
English Language or Literature in English in your organisation. Having the academic qualifications, teaching experiences and skills, I believe I am fit to be an English Language or Literature in English tutor to any class assigned to.

My passion for teaching has always made the tutorial job easy and productive. My skills include Computer, digital marketing and teaching.

My hobbies are teaching, writing and digitalization.

Finally, I am an indigine of Rivers State, Nigeria. A maried woman and a christian who base in Rivers State Nigeria.

About the lesson

My strategic approach that has enhanced productivity and rewarding to my private tutorial so far include and not limited to the following;

1. Flexibility: To achieve success in teaching there is need for flexibility in term of response to students as well as techniques. I am always willing to adjust techniques and approaches to meet the learning styles of my studens.

2. Honesty: Honesty helps me to establish rapport and trust, which are critical elements to a successful tutoring relationship.

3. Willingness to share my experiences: Sharing my experiences and lessons learned builds trust, support and helps the students build self confudent.

4. Patience: I have learnt not to show annoyance in my speech or body language, no matter the situation.

5. Teach the student how to learn. As a tutor my major goal is to help the student become an independent learner.

6. Collaborative. Tutor-student relationship is viewed as partneship, so my student know that I am there to work with her/him to supplement classroom and individual study.

7. Teach the student how to learn. As a tutor your ultimate goal is to help the student become an independent learner.

8. Be confident. My personal and professional qualities enable me to be a role model. Confidentiality also means having the courage to admit my don't know an answer.
Being honest to tell her /him I will need to do my homework? and then follow through. She may actually feel better knowing you're not perfect (and it is a great opportunity to teach learning skill)

9.Be Prepared: Preparing your lessons well is part of my tutorial job. It is always better to be over-prepared than under-prepared. The preparation includes
- Bring recourses, books, laptops, etc, so you always have a plan B if A does not work out.
- Write detailed lesson plan
-Provide additional materials for my students. eg latest technologies in teaching, and make the educational process more interactive.

10. Time conciousness! Being on time to for a class. I do not let my students wait. If my tutoring session is at my student’s house, I may not be too early either. Remembering that my students often have a busy day and feel pressured and stressed if their lesson starts earlier than planned.
