When tutoring, I always focus on three pivotal areas: addressing knowledge/understanding gaps, developing proficiency in the subject, then going further by finding meaning is what is being taught.
The first two are self explanatory, especially in the case of maths and physics, however it is easy to not realise how pervasive these disciplines are to our daily lives, so I always try to find an interesting application of the subject at hand to delve more into as a practical way to increase proficiency.
