I have over 10 years of teaching experience and hold a dual Bachelor's Degree in Elementary and Special Education. While I love to read myself, I love even more helping others learn to read, and learn to LOVE reading! I can't wait to help bring stories alive with you!

Hello!
My name is Amanda and I am a Special Education teacher with a strong passion for teaching reading. As a prolific reader myself, I take great pride in bringing the love of reading to young students.
I have years of experience teaching elementary grade levels, I have training in Orton Gillingham and Wilson methods as well as experience with dyslexia learners.
I love to open my lessons with a little quick grammar, then work on some word work, spelling, and word chains. Then we move to a story, beginning with breaking down the mechanics for understanding, and then we read. We work on comprehension and story parts, and wrap up with a fun game.
I would love the opportunity to welcome you to my reading tutoring and help bring the love of reading alive!
