About Will
I have received undergraduate training from the Stanford mathematics department in a range of subject areas, with an emphasis on writing and understanding mathematical proofs. I have supplemented this work with practical training from the computer science department, centered on project implementation in Python, C++, and JavaScript. I plan to pursue an advanced degree in mathematics with the application areas of physics, machine learning, cryptography and cryptocurrency in mind.

To understand a new piece of mathematics is to give a useful analogy to unfamiliar symbols. Beyond providing guidance on the desired content, my aim in teaching is to identify the style of analogy most effective in advancing a particular student’s understanding. I am also interested in exposing students to the history and breadth of modern mathematics to provide motivation and context for the important theorems and fields of study, as I believe this can help students stay intrigued and dedicated.
