About Azeema
I got a bachelors in senior phase and FET. I am currently working at Summit Academy where I teach grade 10-12. I tutor online with MS TUTORS and NgeMbalenhle Tutoring Services.
I taught grade 4-7 in 2020 at Playschool Primary. I have been tutoring for the past 6 years from grade R-12. I tutored so far 18 learners and most of them came directly from India who knew nothing in English and are able to speak correctly now. I taught mathematics to learners at a homeschool from grade 4-8 during 2019.
I taught grade eights at an orphanage since 2017 for English, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences and Economic Management Sciences. The kids at the orphanage are from different African countries and are not very good English (reading or writing) but by the end of the year there is always an improvement.
I substituted as an English teacher in the beginning of the year at Ahmed Timol Secondary School for two months. For six months I job shadowed an English and History teacher (as they are my majors) and I marked papers, as well as taught a few lessons.
I believe my teaching experience and passion for community engagement makes me an ideal candidate.

The best way to learn material is to grapple with it, to think about it, to use and apply it. This is the foundation of the idea of "active learning". I try to incorporate these ideas into my teaching methods, by involving students in developing their understanding of material, rather than presenting material and asking them to go away and think about it. To this end, I try not to lecture too much, and to use a number of techniques to draw students in. I think that the most useful technique here is to ask students to justify their answers, to ask them why they gave the answer they did to a question. This helps students to understand the foundations of their understanding of the subject.
