About Elyse
What sets me apart as a tutor is my ability to relate to students and explain concepts in a way that is both approachable and effective. As a current college student, I understand the challenges students face and can provide practical strategies for success. My age also helps create a comfortable learning environment where students feel more at ease asking questions and discussing areas where they are struggling.
My lessons are designed for elementary, middle school, high school, and introductory college students. I am particularly experienced in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and other STEM-related subjects. Whether a student needs help preparing for an exam, completing homework assignments, strengthening foundational knowledge, or improving study habits, I adapt my teaching style to meet their individual needs and learning goals.

My approach as a tutor is centered around helping students build confidence while challenging them to reach their full potential. I believe every student is capable of succeeding when concepts are explained in a way that makes sense to them, and I encourage my students to push themselves beyond simply memorizing information.
Rather than following a rigid lesson plan, I tailor each session to what the student is currently learning in class. I typically begin by reviewing recent lessons, assignments, quizzes, or homework to identify areas of difficulty. From there, I break down challenging concepts into simpler steps, demonstrate how they are applied in both exams and real-life situations. If a student is struggling with a specific topic, I focus on strengthening their foundation before moving forward.
