About Jemima
Hi, I'm Jemima, I'm a second-year Biomedical Engineering student at the University of Western Australia, and I tutor Years 7–9 math and science.
I got into tutoring because I enjoy breaking a concept down until it genuinely makes sense — not just teaching a method to memorize, but making sure the reasoning behind it is solid. I take every session seriously: preparing properly, tracking progress, and adjusting my approach based on what's actually working for each student.

My approach & techniques:
I explain concepts in plain English first, using relatable examples, before introducing formal terms. Lessons are hands-on, working through problems together and I focus on pinpointing exactly where something isn't clicking rather than just repeating myself.
Lesson length:
45–60 minutes (can extend to 90 for exam prep).
My background:
Second-year Biomedical Engineering student at UWA with strong results in math and science. I've also coached hockey for 5 years, which shaped my teaching style, breaking skills down and being patient while students work things out themselves.
Who my lessons are for:
Years 7–9 students in math and science, great for building strong foundations, catching up, or boosting confidence before exams.
